Now that the album is out, I feel I can post this without feeling bad, (despite the fact that I’ve been sitting on this album for a month or so now). This, good people, is one album I actually cannot stop listening to. San Francisco’s Sleepy Sun have come back from their debut album, Embrace, with a perfectly crafted psych-rock album. Now, I’m going to talk these guys up, as, they are personal friends of mine, but really…
I’ve seen them from early-ish stages until now and fuck- they’ve certainly worked on the “let’s be the tightest band ever” aspect. The opening song “Marina” has one of the greatest guitar tones I’ve ever heard and both vocalists’ voices are over all even MORE spot on than their last record. This is a must-have if you’re into anything up this alley. Think: Black Mountain fucking Brightblack Morning Light to Pink Floyd’s Meddle… or something… anyhow, ENJOY!
